— Full-Time
Greetings, classmates. Not much to report this time. I had hoped to track down a couple classmates who lived through the Washington D.C. "Snowpocolypse" in February for a firsthand account, but got bogged down with things at work. Things have been very busy on the advanced advertising front. It’s only taken 20 years, but television is finally becoming targetable and interactive. Over the winter I was cleaning some junk out of the basement and came across my Kellogg yearbook, aptly named the "Prospectus." I don’t think I’d looked at it since the day we graduated. Do you remember the quotes that went with our pictures? The question was, "What would you be doing if you hadn’t come to Kellogg?" Here’s a sampling, followed by the authors’ names in random order. See if you can match the classmates to the quotes. "Living in Spain … touting the Boston Celtics," "Earning an honest living," "Watching MTV," "Taste-tester for Hormel chili," "Striptease dancing in Dallas, Texas," "Having a lot more fun," "Neuroscientist/waitress" and "Not drinking beer." Match them to Lorie Koba, Blake Hobson, Jim Karr, Vicki Postelnek, Carol Lucido, Bill Lombardi, Kevin Callahan and Phil Barton. If you want to know who said what, shoot me an e-mail with some news about yourself so I’ll have something to write about besides yearbook quotes next time.
Cheryl Yung Rousseau writes: "Many changes over the past few years. I was promoted from vice president to senior vice president at Lee Hecht Harrison, a global talent management firm. I also was selected to be in their inaugural Hi-Po Leadership program for the top 2 percent of employees, which I completed at the end of last year.
"Personally, I moved to Boston to marry Conrad Rousseau III on Sept. 9. I’m reestablishing myself in the Boston area and looking forward to participating in more KSM events. I would love to hear from fellow area alumni!"
Just as the deadline was closing I also received this update from a real, live classmate. Thanks for the update, Steve Fox, and best of luck with the new job. For my two cents ... you can take Saturday delivery away if it’ll keep the USPS running.
Steve updates: "I have settled back in the D.C. area after a short one-year stint in Florida. I am working as the head of business development for the United States Post Office, where our current financial crisis gives me ample opportunity to try and create new business ventures. I have been there since July, after one year with DHL Express in Ft. Lauderdale and five years with AOL in Virginia. After a few difficult years of traveling, we now call McLean, Va., our home. My wife Susan and I have three growing boys (17, 12 and 9). After joining two of the largest global corporations (Time Warner and Deutche Post) and having them struggle and fail, I find the security of a government job reassuring and the scale of the USPS an amazing challenge."
Enjoy the spring everyone! ’Til next time. |
