Eric Knowles was appointed CFO for U.S. Soccer in Chicago. U.S. Soccer is the governing body for all soccer played in the U.S. In 2008, the U.S. women's team took gold in the Beijing Olympics. The men's team is in the final round of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa.

Doug Kruep and his wife Suzanne welcomed their first child, Andrew Joseph, into the world on Sept. 29, 2008. They reside in Cincinnati.

Tony Bylak recently joined Schneider Electric (Square D) in Palatine, Ill., as director of U.S. shared services, which include accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and payroll functions. A 20-year employee of Motorola, Tony is happy that there is "life after Mot" and really enjoys his new gig. Additionally, Tony participated in building homes in Mississippi for Habitat for Humanity. He and about 200 others worked for a week this year in the hurricane that ravaged the Gulf Coast, building homes for displaced residents. Tony also met up with some alumni this fall at the Walter Payton Run and the Santa Sleigh 5K run in Arlington Heights, Ill. Both runs benefit charitable research for cancer. Finally, Tony did the RAGBRAI bike ride across Iowa this year, covering 477 miles and lots of fields of corn.
