EMP-61

Dear EMP-61,

I was able to touch base with many people these past months, and I even went to the Allen Center for a lecture on corporate social responsibility by Kellogg Professor Daniel Diermeier. Sitting in the Tribune Auditorium and grabbing a handful of candy from the bowl brought back a lot of memories.

I traded e-mails with Matt Marshall, who with wife Susan, is kept busy with Sara Ann (2  ) and Alexander Stewart (born in September). During his leisure time, he is the vice president of finance at SupplyCore Inc. in Rockford, Ill.

Good luck and great job to Brian Gillem who left Jones Day at the end of last year and lives in Philadelphia. His new position is chief information officer for the law firm Cozen O'Connor. Brian, do those lawyers let you wear those headphones at full blast?

The Reding family made it to Disney World last fall. Todd Reding writes: "Wouldn't you know that escaping the cold weather would be impossible! With near-zero temperatures in Iowa, Orlando experienced a record low 30 degrees one evening."

Anthony Kehoe and wife Elizabeth are in the process of moving to Helsinki, Finland, over the next six months from Chicago. Anthony has accepted a position as global director of strategic projects reporting to the executive vice president of strategic planning at UPM-Kymmene Corporation. According to Anthony (no, not officially from Elizabeth, the other voice in the family with a newborn): "Once we are settled in, friends and visitors are welcome."

Not sure if everyone is aware, but Sandy Wallis coordinated a marvelous thing by e-mailing around to some EMP-61ers to help out our classmate Troy Jamison as his family works through some challenges as their beautiful daughter Libby is battling leukemia. If you want to reach out to Troy, he is adding to our GDP, not just our GNP, by working back in the States in Roanoke, Va. He can be reached at tsjamison@hotmail.com.

Thanks to everyone who e-mailed me with some great information. I hope you are having a safe and happy 2009.
