EMP-60
David Krauskopf has welcomed another son since our graduation. Gorgeous Conrad Andrew was born in August and weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 20.75 inches. All in his family are doing well.
W. Randy McCreary II's company McCreary Holdings Inc. continues to do well in these difficult economic times.

Rich Rusnack had a great update for all of us: "All is well with me. I'm still at The Habitat Company (Chicago-based multifamily developer and manager of high-rise apartments). My role has shifted from acquisitions and development to focusing on asset management for institutional partners such as GE, Guggenheim and Northwestern. Hey, I'm in real estate development and I'm still employed, so every day is a good day.
"No new additions to the family, unlike so many of our other classmates. My son Griffin is doing well in seventh grade and my daughter Hannah is a freshman. Yikes! She went on her first date last week and I put the young man through the agony of sitting down for a few minutes to define for me what it means to be a gentleman. The poor kid was sweating, and I think he was actually trembling as he reached out to shake my hand. Perfect. Nothing wrong with a little torture.
"The big news is this: I volunteered to help out with the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago and somehow I ended up as the social chair. Needless to say, I need help! I have a distribution list for my little committee, but I need a few EMP'ers on my team to get things done. Our first event was an after-work shindig at Rock Bottom Brewery. We had about 150 in attendance and it was a huge success. Our next event will most likely be a wine-tasting party, so I'm hoping to see some of you at the party. Let me know if you're not getting notices about these events, or if you would like to help me out on the social committee. I would love to see you all."
I heard from Ron Harris who shared some stories from his great honeymoon trip to Egypt. They had a great and adventuresome time. The two-week trip included the sites of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Abu Simbel, a River Nile cruise and a fabulous stay at the Sharm El Sheikh Four Seasons on the Red Sea. He mentioned that he and his family are really well, and that he hopes the rest of the EMP-60 family finds 2009 to be prosperous and rewarding.
David Duvall reached out to say hello and told me his business, Clarus Health, continues to do well and has some very interesting and lucrative deals pending. He is still based in Roseland, N.J., but promised to come for a visit to New Orleans.
Speaking of visits to New Orleans, I heard from Kathryn and Stu Abelson that they will be coming down to NOLA with their family for a conference this spring so I am so looking forward to catching up with them. I haven't seen them since their wedding and am hoping we can reenact at least one of our Bourbon Street nights from the class golf trip that we took here.
I attempted to have a mini-reunion while in Chicago for my brother's wedding, but wasn't able to meet up. Thanks to those who were willing to make the effort. Here is to a happy and healthy spring season! For those of you who are reading this and not getting my e-mail updates, drop me a line at emoore@harrahs.com with your updated e-mail addresses. |
