2000 — Part-Time

Greetings TMP Class of 2000!

Thanks once again for doing such a great job sending in updates and keeping our class in touch. Any updates regarding gatherings with other alumni, job changes, marriages, births and trips are always appreciated. If you enjoy reading the updates and don't receive a reminder about submitting Class Notes, perhaps your alumni e-mail forwarding address needs to be set up. To do this, go to kellogg.nwu.edu/alumni/index.htm to set this up. While you are there, be sure to sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv.

On with the updates!

Caryn (Friedman) Altman writes: "My husband Randy and I had our second child Amanda in August 2007, joining big brother Jacob in creating a fun chaos in the Altman household! On the job front, after working as a part-time admissions officer for Kellogg for the past 2.5 years, last July I joined Stacy Blackman Consulting, an MBA admissions consulting firm that helps applicants gain admission to top business schools throughout the world. The firm was started by Kellogg graduate Stacy Blackman. While I enjoyed my time working at Kellogg quite a bit, the consulting opportunity is a perfect fit for me and I love being on the other side, helping people reach their goals." I am sure many of us would have loved this service when applying to Kellogg a few years ago, Caryn. Caryn can be reached at carynaltman@yahoo.com.

Congratulations to Thomas Nacher, who was promoted to principal at ZS Associates. Thomas can be reached at 847.492.3735 or thomas.nacher@zsassociates.com.

David Burden has news on several fronts. In June, David accepted a position as executive vice president of Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler's Tenant Representation and Corporate Real Estate Services Group in Chicago. He has specialized in local and national tenant representation and national corporate accounts since 1995. He previously worked as a site selection consultant at Arthur Andersen. David also served as an executive director for Cushman & Wakefield and a senior vice president at CBRE. He was ranked in 2003, 2004 and 2006 among Chicago's Top 20 Brokers in the Chicago metro area by CoStar Group, the industry's leading information provider. In 2007, Commercial Property News listed him as one of "40 under 40 Stars to Watch." On the home front, David and his wife Kristy Holcomb Burden '02 had their third son, Danny, in October. He joins brothers David (5) and Andrew (3). David and Kristy reside in the Hubbard Woods neighborhood of Winnetka, Ill.

Jennifer (Blanchet) Rauworth and her husband Darin welcomed their first child, daughter Eleanor Lynn Rauworth, on Sept. 29. Eleanor is reportedly very patient with mom and dad as they learn the whole "parenting thing." Congratulations Jennifer and Darin! Jennifer can be reached at jbrauworth@sbcglobal.net.

Dave Boyer has finally decided to put his Kellogg nonprofit and entrepreneurship concentrations to use. He'll be leaving eBay Motors as the head of strategy and business development to launch an innovative nonprofit program. The program engages high school students nationwide in leadership development through socially responsible action in their local communities. The team is small and informal but the feedback from all the constituents (corporate sponsors, educators, government officials, and social service organizations) has been extremely positive. If you're interested in becoming involved or simply learning more, contact Dave at: dboyer2000@kellogg.northwestern.edu.

Yours truly, Darin Prado, and my wife Jodie visited the land Down Under last fall. Australia was beautiful and we tried to make the most of it. We spent a few days in Sydney, staying on the Rocks and enjoying the Opera House, Harbor Bridge, local beaches and pubs. From Sydney, we traveled to Kangaroo Island, where we stayed in a rugged cabin on the beach while scouring the island and enjoying the amazing wildlife (kangaroos, wallabies, sea lions, seals, etc.). After stopping by Adelaide for a day tour of some of McLaren Vale's beautiful wineries, we traveled to Carnes and visited the Great Barrier Reef, where we lived on a dive boat for four days. It was an incredible experience filled with many day dives, night dives and shark feeds in the Coral Sea. From there we traveled up the coast, visiting numerous beach towns before we settled into Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, where we did a little hiking and a whole lot of relaxing. It was the trip of a lifetime for us.

Keep in touch everyone!

Darin
