1990 — Full-Time

Hello again Class of 1990 mates,

Time continues to race by and I was struck to think that we will have another Reunion next year. I realize that people are busier than ever and that combined with the current economic climate likely means that I won't be hearing much news from you. I hope you won't forget Kellogg World and that your classmates would LOVE to hear from you. I also imagine that Facebook and LinkedIn have created alternate channels for staying in touch with one another, and that too may be a reason why I haven't heard directly from many of you since our last report. While I'm on Facebook too and have connected with many of our Kellogg classmates there, I prefer to have direct contact with you so that I can write something a little more significant than we/I can glean from your profile/wall.

Andy Mallinger dropped me a note that he's now working for a start-up software company and that the work is keeping him quite busy.

I was pleased also to get a call from the big man himself, Drew Freeman. Drew's Aardvark Adventure Story business recently got some big news. Last September, he was approached by Jay Cutler, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, about doing a personalized children's book project together. Jay was diagnosed with diabetes a year ago, and is devoting a great deal of effort toward inspiring kids and raising money for a cure. Jay liked the idea and approved the project. Since that time, Jay has become a spokesman for Eli Lilly's "Inspired by Diabetes" campaign. Lilly is going to use Drew's My Football Adventure with Jay Cutler books as a primary awareness vehicle, distributing the books widely to hospitals, clinics and schools. Drew is in the process of approaching other celebrities representing causes to do similar projects together. If you're pals with any high-profile people who would be good for Drew to work with, please contact him at drew@aardvarkstories.com.

Drew also is involved part-time with an organization that is thriving in spite of the current economy. The company provides people with a Web portal that allows them to get cash back on their online purchases, with an emphasis on purchasing environmentally sound products from 'green' companies. Non-profit companies are joining as a way to make up for flagging donations by telling their constituents to shop through the non-profit's portal, generating cash back from purchases. Members of the company can receive referral fees that turn into significant residual income streams. Again, contact Drew if you're interested in learning more.

On my end, my business continues to grow and I've been married for a year and a half. Every day I am more and more grateful for my wife Stephanie and I hope that you all have a chance to meet her one day soon. Please write soon!
