EMP-25

Greetings. Thank you to all who responded. Very few classmates took time to provide updates and many of you have not kept current with your e-mails so I am unable to get the directory out to you. Please send me a note with your current info so that I can share with others in the directory.

I received several notes. One was from Timothy R. Schulte, who is residing in Munich, Germany. He writes: "My family and I have been here for about a year, and everyone's adjusting well. My daughters Isabel (7) and Christina (4) speak fluent German and attend German public schools. My wife Laura has resumed her travel-writing career and has written some material about Europe for travel publications the United States. I'm working at Intel's European headquarters in Munich, co-managing the Intel/Dell co-op ad program in the European market. Hope all is well and tell everyone that they can stop in and see me if they are ever in the area."

Vince A. Inendino writes: "Nothing new here, except that my son Vinnie is a freshman at Northwestern now. He's going for a double major (economics, music education). He's in the marching band and as a result, he's going to the Sun Bowl. We're planning a trip to El Paso ourselves. I've never been to a Bowl game before, so it should be fun, and much warmer than the Chicago winter. Hope all is going well for all our classmates. They had better get you their e-mails or I will come after them. Have a great 2006."

Ann Adams wrote to say: "Thank you for all your efforts in facilitating communication. I hope we are successful in locating the list of missing classmates. Michael W. Joyce, Bob F. Lestina and Steve R. Trenholm were part of our study group. Wendy L. Tweeten and I often talk about wanting to know how they are doing, where they are and how to get in touch with them. I wanted all to know what I'm up to these days. I split my time between Richmond, Ill., and Naples, Fla., where I've maintained a residence since 1986. Wendy L. Tweeten, you'll remember, also lives in Naples, so we maintain regular contact. I continue to enjoy my retirement but remain open to volunteer experiences especially during my four or five months in Naples. While in Illinois, I spend as much time with my grandchildren as possible. My daughter is in nursing school full-time so my help is often needed, as her children are still young. They are 5, 8 and 10 years old. Vacations have been limited to the Caribbean so far but next September we're venturing out to Spain and Italy. I absolutely love where I am at this point in my life. Thanks for letting me share, and I hope others will do the same. It really is a blast to read what others in our class have been up to."

Michael J. Bauer writes: "There are many changes going on in my life. I am now divorced, living the bachelor's life. My son is at UIC in medical school after graduating from Northwestern. I tore my left rotator cuff and had to have surgery to repair the darn thing. Sure did ruin my golf swing and now I shoot in the 1980s. Then I changed jobs — I now work for an insurance company and moved to Madison, Wis. I play golf with Vince A. Inendino and Greg A. Orlando. Beat them every time but it's still fun to watch them struggle at the game. Some of us just have it."

I also had a nice note from H. Scott Sarran. He writes: "I've been well and have enjoyed a happy, healthy holiday with family and friends. I'm making a career transition to a start-up company. I will be the chief medical officer for Fidelis Senior Care, a "special needs" Medicare Advantage Plan (i.e. Medicare HMO). It is located in Schaumburg, Ill. We will sell only to patients living in nursing homes, a solid niche market where there is a real opportunity to significantly improve patient care and return value to our investors. Give my best to all and tell them to write with updates.  It's great hearing about the exploits."

 J. Fred Brunk also shared that he and his three sons celebrated his wife Jeannie's birthday with a thousand-mile family road trip in Ireland. Irish music, spectacular scenery, left-side driving on narrow country roads, and of course the pubs were highlights of the two-week self-tour that included every major city and many small towns in Ireland and Northern Ireland. It was grand! He continues his career at Siemens Building Technologies in Buffalo Grove, Ill. and loves the challenges. He also has had a title change to vice president of strategic accounts and is back to a full-time sales leadership role with a team of about 10 big game hunters and four support people. His current business interests are green buildings, environmental compliance at pharma manufacturing plants, biosafety labs, 7X24 data centers and central facility monitoring systems. He also wants to make sure others write in to share what they have been up to these days.

Classmates, I need e-mails and/or contact info for the following individuals:
