Tarun
Bhatt
writes: "I married Jurga Rimkute in Lithuania on Aug.
27. We had a traditional Lithuanian Catholic marriage. The
ceremony was interesting and exciting because of the cultural
differences. Sometimes it felt that I was watching my marriage
in subtitles because I do not speak Lithuanian.
"Among
various things that were going on at the marriage, I had to
carry Jurga across the longest bridge in town to prove that
I will take care of her throughout the life, and chop wood
to prove that I will be a good host.
"After
the marriage celebrations, we went to Neringa Island. Neringa
is a Lithuanian national park situated between the Baltic
Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. The nature, sand dunes, sea,
lagoon and forest are breathtaking.
"At
the end of the December, we went to India. This was Jurga's
first trip to India. She was very excited to try out things
such as wearing a sari (Indian dress), henna painting and
riding on a camel and an elephant." |
