1950s

Dick Coldren writes: "Just moved to Michigan. My stocks are doing fine. We are on a river and the view is great for retirement. I just received my 65-year service award in the Boy Scouts. I still come to NU for the Midlands Wrestling Tournament.

E. Herman Heimann recently received the Key to the City of Cathedral City, Calif.

William Harwood '58 writes: "The year I graduated from Northwestern's school of Commerce and the 'Little Red Schoolhouse' Memorial Hall on the Evanston campus, I celebrated with my father and brother NU's victory in the Rose Bowl, cheering on the Wildcats as they beat California 20-14 in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1, 1949.

"The year I received an MBA from Northwestern's Graduate Business Evening Division at Wieboldt Hall on the Chicago campus in 1958 was the 50th anniversary of the founding of the School of Commerce, and I am looking forward to the 100th anniversary and at the same time my 50th class reunion in 2008.

"In retirement, I have been busy with my hobby, playing stride piano swing music, melodies of the 1920s and 1930s, as well as keeping up with my practicing of springboard diving in the NU Aquatics Center."

Salvatore Magnano '59 writes: "My biography was in the recent edition (23rd) of Who's Who in the World. That is in addition to recent publications in Who's Who in Business and Finance and Who's Who in America.

"I am retired and enjoying contributing my time, talent and treasures to charitable nonprofits (Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua (BGCGN) and the BGCGN Charitable Foundation, Daniel Webster College, Congregational Church of Hollis) as a board of directors member/trustee/officer."
