TMP
2000
Hello,
TMP Class of 2000! What a turnaround from the last Kellogg
World! Congratulations to everyone for providing so many great
updates — keep them coming!
If
you enjoy reading the updates and don't receive a quarterly
reminder from yours truly about submitting Class Notes, perhaps
your alumni email forwarding address hasn't been set up. To
do this go to alumni.kellogg.northwestern.edu. While you are there, be
sure to sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv. On with
the updates!
Ivan
Barriga writes: "Monica and I wed on Valentine's
Day 2001 in the heart of San Francisco. We've been living
in the Bay Area since graduation and we made our home in the
beautiful city of Oakland. I've been blessed to receive California's
first islet cell transplant as part of a clinical research
trial to cure diabetes. I'm also a mortgage consultant for
Wells Fargo, specializing in residential and investment property
financing in all 50 states. Contact me for assistance with
your mortgage. Cheers to GIM South Africa '00 and Argentina/Chile
'99!" Ivan is generously donating $300 to the Kellogg
School Annual Fund with EVERY loan, so let's all do our part
to use Ivan's skills when we can. Ivan can be reached at ivan.barriga@wellsfargo.com.

Dave
Boyer finally left Chicago
in September (after 12 years) to move to the Bay Area (perhaps
Dave and Ivan can meet up!) and work for eBay Motors in a
business development role. Dave is working closely with Kellogg
grads Mike McLaughlin '01 and Rob Chesney '98. Since moving
to California he's taken up surfing and can be found at the
beach nearly every weekend. Dave can be reached at daboyer@ebay.com or 408.376.5639.
Sue
Ficek is currently director
of accounting at Andrew Corp.'s headquarters in Orland Park,
Ill. Andrew is a $1.5 billion telecommunications manufacturer
primarily supporting the wireless industry. Since joining
Andrew, Sue has spent a significant amount of time traveling
to new locations for large SAP systems implementations and
just recently returned from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Watch out for
those caipirinhas, Sue!
Amy
Johnson writes: "On
Oct. 9 several TMP alumni gathered at the round tables and
giant lazy susans of the Evergreen restaurant in Chinatown
to catch up with each other's happenings. Marriages, baby
pictures, upcoming due dates and new jobs were all shared,
as well as our inability to drink as much beer as we did in
China six years ago. We really missed those who were unable
to join us (Applebys, Cathy,
Jerry, Tres, Shaila,
Greg, Shane, Andy,
Steve, Matt) and ask that you drop us a line from time to time.
Our listserv address (which is still active) is ChinaGIM98@listserv.it.northwestern.edu.
Amy can be reached at als4@comcast.net
or 312.444.3237.
Dan
McDevitt has left RR
Donnelley to head up global material sourcing centers for
Andrew Corp. (and, apparently, will be working with fellow
TMP '00 alum Sue Ficek). The frequent global travel is offset
by Andrew's location within 15 minutes of home. Dan can be
reached at daniel.mcdevitt@andrew.com.
U.S.
Navy officer Chris Monroe currently is stationed at
the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and was recently appointed
to the personal staff of the chief of naval operations (CNO)
as a special assistant for strategic action. The CNO is the
uniformed head of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Joint
Chiefs of Staff. Chris can be reached at ctm172@usermail.com.
Tres
Roeder writes: "Elizabeth
and I welcomed a new son to our family! Parker John was born
Oct. 6. Mommy, baby and big brother Garrett are all doing
great! Tres can be reached at roeder_tres@roederconsulting.com.

Rich '01 and Corina Yeh TMP '00 with baby Allison |

|
On
Oct. 1, Rich TMP '01 and Corina Yeh were blessed with the birth of their first child,
Allison Yeh. She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and measured
17.5 inches at birth, but is now more than twice that weight
and giggles when they sing nursery songs to her. Rich and
Corina are still in the Bay Area. Corina is at Intel in a
marketing role, while Rich is at Samsung in a strategic marketing
role. Rich can be reached at ryeh@yahoo.com.
By the way, Rich, nice artwork on the wall in the photo you
sent! I still have my paintings from China hanging proudly
in my home as well ...
After
many years of consulting, Darin Prado (yes, that's me) has left Hewlett Packard Consulting
to become the SAP design and configuration lead for PepsiCo's
order to cash team. I am thrilled to finally leave the "road
warrior" lifestyle of consulting and enjoy taking the
train to PepsiCo's convenient West Loop location. I can now
be reached at darin.a.prado@pepsico.com.
SAVE
THE DATE! Our fifth reunion will be held the weekend of April
29–May 1. Interested in helping out? Please contact
Rachel Carlstead at r-carlstead@kellogg.northwestern.edu for additional information. Let's keep our class
networked by submitting lots of great updates for the spring
edition.
