EMP-43

Classmates and study group members Jim King, Doug Fogwell, Alan Berger, Jose Lopez-Parga, Jane Madejczyk and Bernard Hines have all changed jobs since they were at Kellogg, but try to get together each fall. They last reunited in September at a Naperville restaurant.

Unisource Worldwide Inc., a leading distributor of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, has appointed Timothy M. O'Connor as vice president of marketing for packaging and facility supplies. He will be responsible for the overall marketing functions for these two key strategic business units of Unisource.

Todd MacLaughlan has recently been named general manager of Cima Labs and vice president of Cephalon, located in Eden Prairie, Minn. Cima is a drug-delivery company with more than 300 employees.

Kevin Consey is still in Berkeley, Calif., where he is director of the University of California, Berkeley, Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. He manages an academic staff of 85 people and a budget of $12 million. They are in the process of raising $100 million for a new post-industrial building that will be a model for art and film presentation. Kevin is also working on developing a curriculum in the College of Arts and Sciences/Haas Business School for a joint MBA/MA in arts management.

He still seems to be traveling relentlessly, having been in Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo, Oaxaca, Mexico City, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Helsinki and Zurich delivering papers just in the last 12 months. Kevin was in Atlanta the week of Feb. 14 to deliver a paper and had dinner with classmate Tim O'Connor. He has also stayed in touch with Mary Schumacher-Myles and Todd Schultz. Kevin's wife Susan marked her 20th anniversary with Morgan Stanley in 2005. They remain active in charitable activities — Susan with Girls Inc. and Kevin as chair of the finance committee of Golden Gate Audubon.

Wajahat "Waj" Husain is with Microsoft now in the Downers Grove, Ill., office. He has been keeping really busy with work and two daughters in college. In November he got a chance to go to London and see his brother. Over Christmas the family traveled to Texas for a short winter break. South Padre Island and San Antonio were great after their first snow in 51 years!

Suresh Dixit and his wife Uma have finally decided to try and make their desire to live and work in France a reality. Uma is a free-lance journalist who has been in Paris for several months now looking for a job, while Suresh plans to follow and look for a job. The members of the Kellogg Alumni club of Paris have been a great resource, with alums in Paris such as Mark Bivens '00 and Trista Bridges-Bivens '00 providing both friendship and advice. Suresh has also decided to get more actively involved in the Kellogg network and is on the professional development committee of the N-NW alumni chapter of the KACC.

David Dilday continues to work for Exxon-Mobil and sent in a detailed update on his study group. The group used to try to meet monthly to play poker, but does so less frequently now. Rich Sullivan has moved to Tulsa and works for IBM. Joe Butz has moved a couple of times and now does cardiovascular work in Cleveland. Michael Yuan had gone into the restaurant business in Naperville, but has recently taken up the position of VP with a Boston HR firm. Michael Wright, however, seems to be missing in action for the last couple of years. Mark Falcone continues to be director of revenue, though his responsibilities are not multistate and his company, through a series of mergers and acquisitions, is now called Exelon Corp.

Kathleen "Kathy" Fabsits made a change from finance/accounting to sales in the summer of 2004 by buying into a manufacturer's rep business, Melange Showroom. They have a showroom in the Merchandise Mart and represent about 20 different product lines. Their customers are mostly independent retail stores, though they also sell to companies such as Marshall Field's, Nordstrom's and The Great Indoors (to name a few). Kathy has been enjoying this move and especially loves the lower stress levels now that she only has to worry about making payroll!
