EMP-35
Ed
Fialkowski would like
to thank the EMP-35 members who sent him their new email addresses.
Please send him any changes so his address book stays current.
Barbara
A. McKinzie has been
named to the board of directors of Africare, a Washington,
D.C.-based leader in aid to Africa, as well as the oldest
and largest African-American organization specializing in
African aid. The newly appointed board member brings an enviable
record of professional and voluntary achievement to Africare.
She is currently comptroller for the Chicago Housing Authority,
the third largest public housing system in the United States.
In addition, Barbara has a lifelong commitment to Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, volunteering her time, talent and treasure
to uphold AKA's commitment to service to the disadvantaged.
She ascended through the ranks from chapter president to international
treasurer to vice president. In 2006 she will be installed
as the 27th international president, where she will guide
policy for the more than 180,000 college-educated, primarily
African American women who are members. For more information
on Africare, visit africare.org.
Phil
Helding is now the senior
medical consultant for Qbtech Ab, a quantitative biological
assessment company focused on computer-based assessment of
psychiatric conditions. He travels regularly to the company's
headquarters in Goteberg, Sweden, and remains active in his
practice as well. The most central application of his Kellogg-acquired
skills, he says, is in his work in youth sports. He is active
in the promotion of a rational and developmentally informed
approach to youth sports as part of a Stanford-based organization
called the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Rob
Garrison writes to say
he hopes all is well with everyone in EMP-35! His study group
— AKA "The A Team" — still gets together
frequently after all these years. Everyone is still around
town and enjoys the occasional burger at Meier's Tavern (the
old, after-study-group spot). The Garrison family is doing
well and growing quickly. Teddy is now 4 1/2 years old and
Samantha is more than 3 years old. Christmas has some extra
magic with young kids in the house, Rob reports. He says "The
Noodles" are doing well and keeping Rob and Ann busy.
Tom
Fitzsimons tells us that
he is engaged (that word made you read this sentence twice,
didn't it?) in the same old boring stuff.
Bob
Strickland writes that
he left WellCare and has joined Catholic Health Initiatives
as senior operations consultant. He still lives in Palm Harbor,
Fla., but telecommutes and travels to company headquarters
in Denver. Not bad, man! |
