In this issue, congratulations go out to Mark Booth and Stephen Myers: Mark was named president of Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America Inc. (TPNA), effective Sept. 1. In that role, Mark is responsible for all aspects of TPNA's business, including all commercial and R&D functions. Based in Lincolnshire, Ill., TPNA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Takeda Chemical Industries Ltd., (TCI) which is Japan's largest pharmaceutical company. TPNA was established in 1998 and created to give TCI an important international pharmaceutical presence. With a promising pipeline, revenues exceeding $1 billion in 2001 and approximately 1,500 employees, TPNA is poised to become a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company in the States. Mark's new email is mbooth@takedapharm.com.

Art Handman writes that he saw Stephen Myers just prior to Thanksgiving. Stephen came to Florida on business and brought his golf clubs. In Art's words: "I can personally attest to the fact that he put the clubs to good use, as he scored his second career hole-in-one at the Legacy Course in Bradenton, Fla. I was a witness. Not only did I have to watch his dominating center play on the hoops court for two years of EMP, now I have to see him imitate Tiger!" Art's email: Ahandma@aol.com.

Byrne Mulrooney was elected to the board of trustees at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Byrne is president of the Midwestern Region, Operations Solutions for Electronic Data Systems Corp.

That's it for this issue. Thanks for your updates. Please stay in touch!
