EMP-30

Hey fellow EMP-30ers. Here are some updates about your classmates.

Clayton Salch is currently employed at the sector headquarters for Motorola in Schaumburg. He recently spent two years in the United Kingdom. In his own words, "It was a great experience."

Meanwhile, I spoke to Jeff Hoye and he is doing very well. Jeff was recently appointed president of Corus America Inc., which is an Anglo-Dutch steel producer based in London, with a North American head office based in Schaumburg, Ill. Corus has had an annual turnover of $530 million. Also with Jeff's successes, in 2000 he and wife Carrie built a new house in Palatine, Ill, so they would be closer to Chicago.

Mike Guerriere is now the chairman and CEO of a clinical data network software company in Toronto, Canada.

Greg Cleven, who is president and chief operating officer of Long Grove Confectionery Co., had the opportunity last November to dine with none other than Warren Buffet. Greg reports, "The evening was exceptional. Of course, given my tight noncompete with Long Grove Confectionery, I will not be moving to See's Candies any time in the near future." Greg says he hopes he can bring Long Grove Confectionery to the levels of profitability and return on investment that Mr. Buffet has reached with See's. If you are interested in touring a chocolate manufacturing facility, Long Grove Confectionery's new tour facility is now open. Contact Greg at 312.882.7201 or at gcleven@longgrove.com.

Kevin London is working for Credit Suisse First Boston in Wayne, Pa., located west of Philadelphia.

Al Kurzenhauser is with Primary Power International in Alpena, Mich.

Rod Drummond has made a job change after 24 years. Rod has been appointed president of Valenite Inc., a Madison Heights, Mich.-based manufacturer of industrial cutting tools. Valenite was acquired by the Swedish company Sandvik in August. Rod and his family have relocated to Clarkston, Mich.
