1993

Our 10th Reunion is only a few weeks away! Don't miss it May 2 to 4. It's a great opportunity to catch up with all your Kellogg friends, and there is a great set of activities planned throughout the weekend. If you haven't registered yet, please call the alumni office or sign up via the Kellogg Reunion Web site. You can also see who is already registered by clicking on the 1993-specific area on the Reunions site.

Also, please be aware that after Reunion, I will be officially retiring as our class alumni rep. This means that I will write one more column for Kellogg World after this one, but we need someone else to take over after that. After 10 years, I have decided it is time to give someone else a chance to keep the class in touch with Kellogg. If you are interested, please contact me or Matt Golosinski at Kellogg World.

Before I go, though, I do have some updates from classmates, as well as some older information that I believe got lost in my files. My apologies to those of you who have been waiting to see your news in print ó most of these came in right after Sept. 11 in the flurry of communication regarding Ted Hennessy, so I'm afraid I wasn't as organized as I normally am.

First, from Dale Zeh, a report that tracks him from Kellogg to San Francisco to Atlanta with Compaq, and more recently back to Southern California (where he grew up). Dale has joined his parents' company, Pasadena Billing Associates (www.pabilling.com) as president. Along the way, he has married and now has two great daughters, Heidi and Maggie. About his move back to California, Dale says, "So, almost 10 years to the day after leaving Southern California to go to Kellogg, I've returned ó older, wiser, and with the refreshing knowledge that there is, indeed, life east of I-5."

Also heading west are Brett Jarvis and his family. They moved last year from Chicago to the Bay Area, when Brett started working for Oracle again. They are currently settling into Redwood City.

Two long overdue birth announcements (my apologies again): Brian Vogel wrote to announce that on Sept. 7, 2001, his wife Kim and he welcomed twins Simon Edward and Aidan Finn. They joined big brother Riley Christopher in their happy household. When not changing diapers, Brian is working as a portfolio manager in the Wealth Management Group at Keycorp in Cleveland.

Also welcoming a new addition to the family was Paul Richards and his wife Carol Ann. On Aug. 30, Emma Clare was born. She weighed 6 lbs.,, 15 oz., and was 20 inches long. Congratulations!

Harald P. Fett reports that after moving to Munich almost three years ago, he joined the e-hype and founded the software company Mercateo AG. Harald says, "I was was lucky enough to be able to sell a majority stake to German utility giant E.ON just in time before the big crash. After that positive experience, I was seriously infected with the entrepreneurial virus, which led to the foundation of Active Equity Management GmbH, a private equity boutique doing majority investments in European SMEs."

Emma Clare was born to Paul L. Richards and wife Carol Ann on Aug. 30. Emma was 6 lbs., 15 oz. and 20 inches, and is doing great!

We look forward to seeing many of you at the Reunion in May. Please call if you are interested in being the class rep the rewards of keeping in touch with people are great!
