Bill Webster
'44 and his wife Penny moved to Florida two years ago
and happily report they love it. "We keep in touch with our
remaining Wildcat friends and greatly enjoyed the alumni club's
trip to Dordogne in France last spring. We enjoy the climate
here with its year-round outdoor tennis!"
Bruce S. "Bud"
Sholl '48 has just published his first book, called
General Chennault's Replacement Crews. Sholl spent
the better part of six years working on the book, an account
of the top secret mission of a World War II squadron. Sholl
also administers the North Palm Beach, Fla., CPA firm of Charlene
Miller Sholl '48.
August Blomquist
'48 of Farmington, Mich., has retired from the financial
operations of the Ford Motor Co. He reports that he is in
good health, enjoying golf, bridge and community activities.
He and his wife Sally also look forward to seeing Florida,
New York and European cities. August says he is glad and proud
to have attended Northwestern.
Howard Decker
'48 of Glenview, Ill., divided his career into two parts.
For the first 20 years, he was in the northern Illinois office
of General Electric's finance division. The second 20 years
were spent at the Amalgamated Trust and Savings Bank in Chicago.
He and his wife Engadine have four children, four grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Gerald Flegel
'48 of Highland Park, Ill., retired 10 years ago from
Metropolitan Structures in Chicago. He and his wife Roslyn
Klein Flegel of Speech '53 have two children and three grandchildren.
They are spending their time visiting their families out-of-town
and also seeing and learning more of the Chicago area.
Warren Grant
'48 now lives in Aurora, Ill. He spent the years 1974-86
in Providence, R.I., and then lived and participated in activities
in Hilton head, S.C., for eight years. He and his wife Mary
have three children and two grandchildren. He is the editor
of the Air Force Newsletter of the 376th Bomb Group and also
serves in the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Walter Horwich
'48 of River Forest, Ill., spent the first 25 years of
his career working in his family's commercial finance company.
Since then and to this day, he has been a financial consultant.
He and his wife Maxine Levin Horwich of CAS '46 have two children
and five grandchildren. Unlike most of his classmates, he
has made his home in one place ó River Forest ó all of his
life.
Edward P. Oines
'49 has moved to South Dakota and taken up residency at
Trail Ridge, an American Baptist home for seniors. After his
wife Lillian died in June, Edward reports he decided to leave
Richmond. He writes of his new home, "the fellowship and the
food is great."
