(jim.kvedaras@cn.ca) writes: This past half year has
brought a ton of new experiences to me as a Kellogg graduate.
As the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago has geared up to become
much more active and visible, I was given the opportunity
to play a part in its future, as a co-chair of one of the
sub-committees. Like most of you, I was totally unsure about
my ability to squeeze in yet one more thing that would require
more of my time. Family and professional demands consume just
about every moment of my life now, it seems. Can I make time
to do more?
The
answer, as it turned out, was yes. It really supports one
of my guiding philosophies, which goes something like this:
Give a man who has nothing to do, something to do, and
it wont get done. But give a busy man something to do
and it will get done. (Apologies to whoever the original
author was.) Although one has to keep things reasonable and
in perspective, the bottom line is that there is time even
in a busy schedule for some things.
Our
intention is to provide a mechanism to encourage more interaction
between area alumni. We are all highly educated (and incredibly
modest) professionals with a huge amount of experience between
us all, both professional and personal. We are also scattered
across the entire area, with varying degrees of ability (or
desire) to participate in certain types of events, meetings,
discussions, or whatever.
This
is what makes us unique, and why KACC will continue to develop,
to be flexible, to respond to the needs or ideas of the alumni.
Help us help you by providing some feedback or other thoughts.
We have a very large presence in the area with minimal
input by multiple alumni, we can become much more visible
and helpful to each other.

for nearly 12 years, I have relocated to Bangalore, India,
to start an IT-enabled services company called Vega Information

I was promoted to senior vice president in charge of LaSalle
Banks commercial real estate office in Milwaukee. (Just
finishing my eighth year at LaSalle and third in Milwaukee
after moving back home after graduating.) I have one terrific
son, Owen, 21-months-old. My wife, Cindy, and I are eagerly
awaiting birth of second child in June. Also, enjoyed meeting
with other Kellogg alums at the wedding of Kim Wilson Frye
in L.A. last October!
