KR-02

Our alumni were fortunate this fall/winter to host numerous Kellogg VIPs, as well as to participate in myriad educational and social offerings.

Dean Jain and Dean Emeritus Jacobs visited us in November and attended the graduation ceremony of KR-04, as well as opened the class of KR-06. We honored them and Dean Shmuel Kandel of Tel Aviv University’s Recanati School of Business, as well as Israel Zang, former dean, and now vice rector of Tel Aviv University, at the second annual Kellogg-Recanati Dean’s Dinner.

In tribute to Dean Jacobs, the alumni, led by board team leader Jill Marie Reinach and the board team, as well as Marcel Amariglio, the alumni established the “Dean Jacobs Scholarship.” In true Middle East tradition, Ron Tamir and Kim MacMillan (KR-01) honored the Deans with other gifts from alumni. KR-04 presented all KR alumni with the KR-04 handbook which summarized courses, and was edited by Stuart Ballan. (Asher Tischler, Orit Mendelson-Shoham and their team, together with the alumni board, deserve kudos for organizing the successful evening.

In January, both Kellogg and Kellogg-Recanati alumni warmly welcomed Professors Tom Lys and Margaret Neale. Alumni enjoyed a co teaching presentation, “Can you Have the Cake — and Eat it, too?! The implications of behavioral finance for personal portfolio allocation.” Professor Anne Coughlan was also in town to teach. Laura Herschlag (KR-04) organized the dinner following.

In February, local alumni also enjoyed a lovely social evening – Middle East style – over coffee and cake — with Professor Artur Raviv. Special thanks to Ron Tamir for organizing this event.

KR-04’s Shalini Elassery and KR Director Orit Mendelson Shoham organized a fantastic trip to India for alumni that was filled with business, but mostly pleasure and culture. Orna (KR-04) and Hanoch Barakat (KR-02), Miri Kerbs (KR-04), Avi (KR-04), Orna and Nitzan Shai, as well as Shalini and her husband participated in this trip. More are being planned.

Our board welcomes its KR-04 additions: Stuart Ballan, Orna Barakat, Iris Bodenheimer, Laura Herschlag, Jack Morad, Abeer Odeh-Khoury and Miri Kerbs. We look forward to reporting about more cooperative events among Kellogg-Recanati and Kellogg alumni next time!
