1989

Don Chaney, Stuart Kerr, Mitchell Manassa, Phil Hildebrandt, and Lori Schulte
These 1989 alums joined forces to donate funds to fellow 1989 alum John Wood's nonprofit organization, Room to Read. Room to Read builds schools and libraries in Nepal and Vietnam. L to R: Don Chaney, Stuart Kerr, Mitchell Manassa, Phil Hildebrandt, and Lori Schulte. Their contribution will build a 500-book library to serve 200 children.

New Class of 1989 representative Paul C. Smith writes to say that he recently joined the middle-market investment banking firm of Century Capital Group (formerly Vine Street Partners) located in Chicago. He is working on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising for small- to mid-sized firms.

Brian Wesbury was named as The Wall Street Journal’s top economic forecaster for 2001. An article about Brian’s achievement appeared on page A-2 of the Jan. 4 edition of the newspaper. Congratulations!
