Cathy (Weinstein) Marlowe reports that since 1996, she has been executive director of a nine-physician cardiology practice in Columbia, Md. In 1997 the practice was acquired by what is now MedStar Health, a Baltimore and Washington, DC-based integrated health care system. The practice came out of that relationship in July of 2000 with a new name, HPV Heart, P.A., and continues to thrive as a private practice.

After working in hospitals for many years, husband David Marlowe has been in healthcare consulting since the mid-90s. In 1999 he went into solo consulting after HBOC closed the consulting division for which he worked, which had itself been an earlier acquisition by HBOC. While working out of a home office has its challenges, he has become a nationally-recognized expert in healthcare marketing and provides strategic planning and marketing services to hospitals and healthcare systems across the country through his firm, Strategic Marketing Concepts. Cathy and David have a 13-year-old son, Daniel, two (elderly) cats and two (young) dogs.
