Germany

Kellogg Alumni Club of Germany held an event on Oct. 27 in Munich, which had speakers that focused on New Economy, stock market, IPO and bricks-and-clicks topics. The keynote speaker was Vijay Sondhi, who focused on his experiences as a business angel and CxO with IXOS; he also talked about the topic of double listing at two stock exchanges. Vijay is a business angel based in Munich and has spent over ten years working in startups and high-tech in Europe. Most recently he served as CFO for IXOS Software AG before becoming co-CEO in November 1999. In his capacity as CFO he took the company public and executed the first dual listing on the German Neuer Market and NASDAQ. Prior to joining iXOS, Vijay Sondhi worked for SAP AG, Fidelio Software GmbH, Booz€Allen Hamilton and Bankers Trust Co. He serves on the boards of eLabsEurope, Munich and YourVoice, Milan. Vijay holds a B.Sc. in computer science from the University of British Columbia and an MBA in finance from Columbia University. He can be reached at vijay<\@>ksondhi.com. Alex Ricks who is with UBS London equity research talked about the current development at the stock markets and their implications for łNew Economy˛ companies. Alex has substantial working experience with both new and old economy clients, and therefore, he provided us with significant insights into current trends. The event was open to graduates from all business schools and their friends.
