EMP-15
Happy
New Year. It was fun to hear from several of you.
After
EMP, D. Clark Wernecke moved to Florida to work in
the building materials industry. While there, he and his wife
were divorced and Clark decided to go back to school and earn
his Master's degree in anthropology. He then went to Texas
and earned his Ph.D. Meanwhile, he became the director of
a large Mesoamerican archaeology program. In this role, he
met his current wife, Melissa, in a Belizan monastery (he
didnšt expand on that story, though I bet it's interesting!)
He and his wife have a little girl who is 20-months-old.
In addition
to his work at BRASS/El Pilar Program in Belize and Guatemala,
he is a research associate at the Texas Archaeological Research
Laboratory in Austin. He can be reached at Cwernecke@ compuserve.com
Congratulations, Clarke for following your dream.
Muff
Tanriverdi has relocated from Lake Zurich, Ill., to Wisconsin
to assume the role of president and CEO at Walter-Waukesha
Cutting Tools. He and his wife Cindy have two children, Kyle
(5) and Tara (3). They are currently building a house and
while renting a home on a lake. Muff said it is a great party
area and he is in the process of looking for a boat. He said
that anyone that is in the area is at a minimum promised a
"hand-pumped" Guinness with "Scotch eggs"
in the local genuine Irish pub. He can be reached at mtanriverdi@aol.com.
After
retiring from Medical Practice in Kankakee, Jim Geist
joined Healthcare Compare in 1988. He and his wife moved to
a condo in Downers Grove, Ill. After four years, he advanced
to assistant vice president at which time he retired and moved
to Naples, Fla. Tennis, woodturning and travel take up a lot
of his time. As I write this, Naples sounds great. Jim can
be reached at JIMADDIN@aol.com.
John
C. Alexander Jr. left Evanston Hospital in December 1998
and is currently chief of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery
at Hackensack University Medical Center Hackensack N.J. He
is beginning to get involved in "next step" activities
of consulting and e-medicine. "This is an exciting time
for medicine," he writes.
I received
a note from Tom Brennan -- unfortunately no info accompanied
it. I do know he is alive.
I also
received a phone call from Al Gunnerson who is living
in Philadelphia. We have not yet connected.
My best
to all of you. Remember: if I donšt hear from anyone, I'll
be forced to tell you more about Trisha and I. After last
issue there is not a lot more to tell so I'll have to make
up stuff.
