I hope that everyone is having a good start to the year and that spring is looming just around the corner where you are. Can you believe that it has been almost seven years since we left Kellogg?! Before you know it I am going to be hitting you up for help planning our 10th reunion! It is getting hard to keep track of what our classmates are doing these days, so I'd like to thank everyone who sent news.

Over Labor Day weekend in a beautiful ceremony overlooking Northeast Harbor, Maine, Sonal Thakar married John Rinello (she is now Sonal Thakar Rinello). Joining her to celebrate late into the evening were Joanne (Bracegirdle) Jones, Amy Rose and myself. Sonal and John live in NYC where she works in global strategic planning for Avon.

Amy Rose and Allen Weinberg were married at the beautiful Viansa Winery in Sonoma, Calif., on Sept. 24. Amy's wedding party included Sally Pofcher, Connie Gute Walsh, Lisa (Foltz) Axelrod and Suzie Rubin and Kellogg guests included Scott Pofcher, Jeff Walsh '93, Mike Axelrod, Laura (Fink) Katter and Alec Frisch. Amy and Allen traveled to Bali for their honeymoon and live in NYC where Amy manages the U.S. Skincare business for Avon.

Terrence Metz is now a partner with Morgan*Madison & Company, Inc. He write: "If you're looking to increase revenue through new products, uncertain markets, or unserved customer needs, Morgan Madison is expert at delivering content and processes you need to make decisions. We are business-to-business marketing experts, and damn good at it."

Brian Saltzman writes: "In 1998 I married Alma Schneider, a native New Yorker and clinical social worker. August 2000 brought our first child, Ilah Charlotte Saltzman. Since August 1999 I have been leading the sales and marketing efforts for start-up FlexMind.com, an e-service which allows companies to outsource short-term projects to graduate students from leading universities."

Dan Evarts and his wife Tray had an early Valentine's Day present with the birth of Tyler Stone Evarts on Feb. 12. Dan and Tray live with Tyler and big sister Sayle in Cambridge, Mass.

Melissa '93 and Chris Edison Barnes celebrated the New Year a few days early with the birth of Rowan Scott Barnes on Dec. 30. The three live in Denver where Chris works for Tucker Anthony and Melissa works for Blue Ink Solutions, an e-mail consultancy that she started last summer.

John Stellato and his wife Julene welcomed daughter Karinn in November. They live with their son Matthew and daughter in Chicago.

Laura (TMP 1994) and Kevin Stephenson wrote with news of the birth of Sabrina Seaforth Stephenson on June 21 and reports that Sabrina is working on her Australian accent!

Carrie (Erzen) Stolar and her husband Glen live in Chanhassen, Minn. with their sons Jacob and Ben, born Nov.19. Carrie was working part-time for Pillsbury but is taking time off to be home full-time with her boys.

Connie (Gute) and Jeff Walsh '93 and daughter Katie moved from Chicago to Boston in February. Connie works for Language Stars, a language immersion program for children based in Chicago and Jeff took a new position with Exact Sciences, a start-up in the genomics arena. They are living in Acton, Mass., while house hunting.

Last spring, Scott Yates moved from St. Louis to Boston to work for SupplierMarket.com. He barely closed on his condo and before we could even catch up here in Boston, his company was acquired and Scott moved back to Chicago! He can be reached at syates@ariba.com.

David Tatge wrote with a big update. He married Jennifer Mathy in May 1999 and joined MasterCard as director of marketing consulting services in December. He moved to Danbury, Conn., and two weeks later, on Jan. 26, his son Jackson Henry was born! Itching for more change, David is thinking of "doing some gene-splicing, climbing a couple of mountains, and maybe running for office over the next month or two."

Scott Kelley sent the following update: "I got married in September 1998 and my wife Ellie and I had our first child (Stella) on April 26, 2000. I am still with Goldman Sachs (six years) and recently transferred to Philadelphia, where I am working in the private wealth management group. I previously spent five years in New York in the institutional sales and trading division." Scott lived with Jamie Freundlich in NYC.

Carlos Guillermo Leon wrote that he and his wife Melyza have been back in the Dominican Republic since graduation. They have hosted a couple of "Kellogg Corps" groups and are delighted to take them out whenever around. Everybody is invited! Carlos and Melyz have three kids: Carlos born after graduation in October 1994, Maria Laura in 1996, and now Hector Eduardo (born July 26). Carlos sends a warm "hello" to the Big Dogs!

And with a bit of help from Thomas Trkia '84, here is an update from Chris and Helen (Barnes) Newell. Thom wrote that he met Chris and Helen while vacationing on Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia last spring (see picture). Chris and Helen and their daughters Kiersten and Victoria Ann (born April 2000) live in Vaucluse, Australia, a suburb of Sydney. Thanks to Thom!

And now for the extensive update from Yuko. After spending four years commuting from San Francisco to Modesto with E&J Gallo, Yuko Suzuki traded in her commute to join the high tech business closer to home. She is the director of global accounts with PeoplePC in San Francisco. She saves so much time without commuting, that she sent this update about our classmates.

All of the following news is courtesy of Yuko, and I thank her! Samira Parekh was married in Napa, Calif., in October. Chris Balough, Grace Han, Nanette Alcala, Vina Shih and Yuko Suzuki attended the ceremony. Samira and her husband Don will soon move to the Bay Area.

Bruno Larvol has moved from New York to Palo Alto. He has started two companies and is sharing an apartment with Chris Balough and office space with Amit Choudhry. Amit is partnering with David Hayford.

Karen Jones-Mak had a baby boy, works for Siebel and lives in Foster City, Calif.

T.J. Singh splits his time between New York and Halfmoon Bay running a company with his brother.

Jeff Marsh lives in Chicago and recently joined a travel dot-com as director of marketing. Before starting his new job, Jeff spent some time in San Francisco and he and Yuko caught up with Jay Grant who is also working for a dot-com as director of marketing.

Andrew Segal is still working for American Airlines in Dallas and recently vacationed in Iceland. Yuko reports that Andrew has stopped traveling domestically -- so if you want to see him, you have to go to Dallas. He visits Christian Hoffmann and Astrid Oyo in Switzerland every fall where they live with their two children.

Chris Marolf started a consulting company with his wife in Menlo Park.

Yuko and Nora El Goulli traveled to Tunisia last summer and Nora is an independent consultant in London.

Also in London is Patrick Tevi with his wife and two children. Patrick works for Deutsche Bank.

Pierluigi Antonelli is living in New Jersey and Vina Shih is now in New York.

Vicente Nogueira is back in New York working for Goldman Sachs.

Tom Gottsman lives with his wife and daughters Clair and Olivia in New York.

George Wu has two children (a boy and a girl).

Sheldon Chang lives in Hong Kong and works for Merrill Lynch traveling across Asia. He has two children.

Ann Gnuse works for Intuit and lives in Menlo Park.

Sanjay Rao is with Cisco in San Jose.

Nanette Alcala and Susan Pommer both recently moved to the Bay Area and work for Sun Microsystems.

Todd Goldman is with AOL; some of our group here in the Bay Area bumped into his family in Palo Alto and had lunch a few months ago.

Eylard Wurpel writes: "As of Jan. 1, I have started as managing director of United Internet (U.K.), a branch of the German company United Internet AG. (www.united-internet.de)."

David Buley writes: "I was married on Sept. 23, to Deborah Ann Berg in Cleveland. The wedding was very special because many of my Kellogg classmates could make it. In attendance were Ro and Clark Harrison (Clark was co-best man), Mala Nanda and Ray Riley, Dave and Amy Padgett, Lynne Bey, Susan Pommer, and Jeanne Young, and Joy Hougas '95"

When I was in Japan on business a few months ago, I had dinner with Yumi Komiyama, Takeshi Kasai, Takeshi Ito, Masako and Shige Maeda. Yumi is working for her family's business; Kasai is with Tokai Bank; Ito works for a consulting firm; Masako is writing a book and works for a research firm; and Shige is with an advertising agency.

James Kim lives in San Francisco but spent some time in Japan last year while on sabbatical.

Keiichi Wakabayashi lives in Dearborn, Mich., working for Ford.

Hiro Chino got married in Tokyo.

Robin Yoshimura works in banking in Los Angeles, has three children and still competes in triathlons!

Elizabeth Lee is in Los Angeles working for Neutrogena.

Jona Javier now lives in Toronto after spending years in Manila.

Lynn Bay is a business director for Avery Dennison in Ohio.

Del Taylor is an independent consultant based in St. Luis. He recently spent three weeks in Thailand and Cambodia to learn Thai massage.
