Still friends after 29 years at sea, Victoria Anstead, Ken Horowitz and Rose-Anne Moore finally completed their circumnavigation of the globe on their yacht, Roastbutt, sponsored by C.F. Kane.
John Chester and his wife, Laurie, have been running their own company, Wild Apple, ever since they moved to Woodstock, Vt., in 1989. Wild Apple makes art posters and licenses artwork to manufacturers in home furnishings. Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s are only two of the retailers who stock their designs on rugs, dinnerware, placemats, fabrics and framed art. They have two boys in college, two dogs and a llama.
After 25 years as a health care executive and entrepreneur, Don Cook began to follow his passion: writing and performing music. He met the love of his life, Gayle Walker, and the two now perform together as Gypsy Stew with a wonderful variety of side musicians.
Ray Felson was named executive director of Plymouth Place Senior Living, a continuing care residential community in LaGrange Park, Ill. Previously, Ray was the founder and president of TPG Realty in Chicago, a commercial real estate and property management firm. A resident of LaGrange Park, he has served on the boards of Plymouth Place, Chicago Theological Seminary and the Chicago Association of Realtors.
Alison Heiser finally met S.C. Johnson & Son Professor of International Marketing Philip Kotler at KIN Global in May, along with Dave Evans EMP-45.
Skipper Steve Knoop sailed his way to overall winner honors at the Sperry Top-Sider National Offshore One-Design Regatta Chicago, the country’s largest regatta series, in the highly competitive J/105 Class. His prize includes a charter to the British Virgin Islands to race against six other NOOD regional champions.
Ron Visscher was recently awarded long-awaited patents for information technology in social networking and knowledge management. He has been teaching business and management in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Mich., for about a decade. His family business involves performing professional evaluations, facilitating online peer reviews and inspiring communitywide innovation for various groups. He and his wife, Carolina, whom he met in Evanston 30 years ago, are almost empty nesters.
Tod Windsor opened a second Jimmy John’s restaurant in Gillette, Wyo., last summer.
In March 2014, Steve Yastrow’s daughter Nurit gave birth to a daughter of her own, Adina, Steve’s first grandchild.
