Following the twelfth annual Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) Conference held at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, Kellogg Professor Martin Lariviere assumed the presidency of the Society. MSOM is a Society of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).  MSOM promotes the enhancement and dissemination of knowledge, and the efficiency of industrial practice, related to the operations function in manufacturing and service enterprises.  Prior to becoming president Larivere served as the Society’s Executive Vice President and Vice President for Meetings.  He has also co-chaired the Society’s annual conference and its student paper competition.  Lariviere is a Professor of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences (MEDS) and director of Kellogg’s Center for Operations and Supply Chain Management.
