Tuition
and Fees
Students
in the Part-Time MBA Program pay for classes on a
per-class basis as the classes are taken. Students
pay for courses before the start of each quarter.
Students take a total of 20.5 classes to earn an MBA
but students pay for 20 units (excluding the ½
unit Values, Ethics & Strategic Crisis Management
that all students take).
The
following tuition fees apply to the 2007-2008
academic year. The cost per one unit increases each
academic year in the fall quarter by approximately
6.5 to 8%. Part-Time MBA students can apply for financial
aid; please consult the Financial
Aid section below for information about the process

Financial
Aid
Whether students are seeking full financial aid to
fund their education or requesting aid to offset costs
because their employer does not provide 100% reimbursement/sponsorship,
the Office of Financial Aid on the Chicago campus
of Northwestern University serves the educational
financing needs of all students enrolled in the part-time
program. Students applying for financial aid are offered
loan assistance to meet their costs; no institutional
scholarships or grant aid is available for part-time
students. For a summary of financial aid options available
to students in the part-time program, please refer
to our
summary form. (PDF)
Loan
assistance is available from two major sources: the
Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) and
alternative loan programs from private lenders. The
FFELP includes the subsidized and unsubsidized Federal
Stafford Loans. Individuals taking two courses per
quarter may be eligible for loans through these governmental
loan programs. For details regarding federal loans,
please refer to the U.S.
Department of Education Student Guide.
Although
the part-time program does not offer any grant assistance
to students, there are a variety of scholarship programs
offered through various civic and professional organizations,
as well as through state agencies and private foundations.
Students are encouraged to investigate what programs
may be available to them. Check out the Financial
Aid Web site: http://www.finaid.org
for scholarship information. The Kellogg School and
Northwestern University are neither affiliated with
this Web site nor responsible for the accuracy of
its content.
If
admitted to the Part-Time MBA Program, new students
should download, complete and return the necessary
forms to the Northwestern Office of Financial Aid
on the Chicago Campus. The financial aid information
that students download and complete includes a University
Aid Application for Northwestern University and the
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
These forms are located on Northwestern
Office of Financial Aid's Web site.
When the FAFSA has been processed, a Student Aid Report
will be sent to the schools indicated in the FAFSA,
as well as to the student. The Office of Financial
Aid will use this report to determine an admitted
student's eligibility for financial assistance. The
FAFSA can be filed online; for more information go
to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Please note that the Part-Time MBA Program at the
Kellogg School does not process the financial aid
documentation for part-time students. Rather, the
Northwestern University Office of Financial Aid on
the Chicago campus manages the qualifications and
processing for part-time students.
