The Kellogg School’s innovative approach to learning combines
rigor with relevance. Senior Kellogg faculty members
share the latest findings from their own research, as well as theory
from their respective disciplines, but also look for every chance
to translate theory into practice. Hands-on learning is valued,
for it gives students the chance to put their skills into action
tackling real-world business problems - often those that
challenge their own companies. In addition, students may choose
an independent study or special project in which they focus on
the company where they work.
Students learn from the same top-tier faculty
members who teach students in the school’s highly regarded
full-time program. They include well-respected academicians in
fields from finance to marketing to operations - scholars
who have authored the texts and molded the theories taught in business
school classrooms around the country.
The Kellogg School dean specially selects faculty to teach in
the Executive MBA Program for their research excellence and experience
working with business, government, regulatory bodies and executive
education programs. EMBA faculty are experts in helping seasoned
executives apply the latest management theory to their work.
Professors take a global approach to their subjects, encouraging
students to do the same. As they begin their second year of the
program, students complete an intensive week of study in conjunction
with their peers from Kellogg’s Global Partner Institutions around
the world. International learning opportunities abound, from global
field study courses to the chance to take an elective abroad.
This approach has earned the school a consistent history of praise from some of the groups that rank Executive MBA programs around the country and the world. U.S. News & World Report has named the Kellogg School's Executive MBA Program No. 1 in the United States each year since its survey began in 1990. BusinessWeek has done the same since 1991. The Kellogg School also has achieved the No.1 ranking in many newer global surveys of EMBA programs, like the Economist Intelligence Unit, publisher of The Economist magazine.
These rankings simply underscore what many in the business world have long realized - the Kellogg School's top-rated faculty and staff, its combination of rigor and relevance and its emphasis on teamwork and community provide an executive MBA experience like no other. |
