Director's Message

Dear Alumni and Friends of The Program

We have reported, from time to time, on the Health Industry Management Program's activities in executive education and physician management development programs. The Program remains very active in this area, especially in the area of tailor-made seminars for a variety of specific client audiences. We feel the Program remains at the forefront of executive education for the healthcare industry.

Indeed, the Kellogg School is a recognized world leader in designing and conducting customized executive development programs for individual companies, industries, professional associations, health systems and hospitals. The programs are designed and taught by senior members of the Kellogg School's distinguished faculty. They are scholars of distinction, well known for their research and their experience in working with business, government, regulatory bodies, and in executive education programs. Experts from outside the school are also on occasion invited to make presentations in some programs.

The Health Industry Management Program and its faculty have recently developed executive education and physician development seminars for a distinguished group of organizations. Many of these offerings have had numerous iterations, over a period of several years.

The Program faculty draw on a wide variety of experts when they tailor programs for organizations or groups. They focus primarily on identifying the right faculty members to meet the client's needs. While they draw primarily on Kellogg faculty, we have also drawn on experts outside the campus for specific program content. Do note that Kellogg generally uses full professors and those holding chairs in their fields of expertise in its executive development programs.

Funds made on such programs have endowed a substantial student scholarship fund and are being used to assist faculty research and program development. Should your organization have the need for developing such a program, I would be happy to discuss the particulars with you. Please contact me at 847/491-5541 or e-mail me at j-shalowitz@kellogg.nwu.edu.
