Kellogg, American Orthopaedic Association plan series of leadership
seminars
The Health Industry
Management Program (HIM) and the American Orthopaedic Association
(AOA) have joined force to present
a series of three leadership development programs that will
be held at the James L. Allen Center on the Evanston Campus.
The programs will be offered over the next several years beginning
November 7-9, 2003. HIM’s Joel Shalowitz, MD and Jim
Drury are working with AOA Executive Director Tom Stauzenbach
to develop the programs. The AOA seeks to empower and amplify
the skills of orthopaedic surgeons and to develop leaders in
the field by providing the tools and resources needed to lead
more effectively. The programs will further this goal by encouraging
participants to think and act effectively both inside and outside
the practice setting. Participants will be given an opportunity
to learn about leadership as it relates to business issues,
community involvement, professional and advisory appointment,
as well as governance issues. HIM and Kellogg were selected
competitively over Harvard, Wharton and several other schools
to develop this programming for AOA. |
