Strategies & Tips

To help you in the application process, here are a few important application strategies.

Your interview must be completed by either the Round 1 or the final/Round 2 deadline date for the application cycle to which you are applying.

Your application does not need to be submitted when you interview – we do not preread applications. You simply need to bring a current resume to your interview.

If you are applying to multiple schools, try to synch the applications so you receive decisions in a similar timeframe.

Your application will only be considered complete and sent to the admissions committee after we have received all of the application elements . To ensure a timely decision from Kellogg, make certain to submit/complete the following by the deadline date: application and essays, 2 recommendations, interview, official/hard copy transcripts from all colleges attended, and the official GMAT/GRE.

The submission of your application and the recommendations is independent. You should submit your application when it is complete. The recommendations will be matched to the application you submit – be it if they arrive before or a few days after you submit your application.

Review the financial aid FAQ prior to applying . That way, if you receive an offer, you will know about the process and options and be ready to work with the NU Office of Financial Aid.

You have up to the deadline date for the term to which you are applying to take your GMAT/GRE. This can provide you extra time to work on the GMAT/GRE or to arrange a test date that matches your schedule. We usually receive GMAT/GRE scores 2 weeks after you take the test; so we can simply add your score report to the application you submit.
