Kellogg Doctoral Program

PhD Classes
The Kellogg School of Management offers 40+ doctoral seminars in a given year. These courses, which are rooted in statistics, theory, peer-reviewed literature, and research methodology, are taught by faculty who are acknowledged experts in their fields. With enrollments ranging from 3 to 20+ students, these seminars provide natural opportunities for discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Doctoral courses offered at the Kellogg School fall into six categories: Additionally, Kellogg’s innovative curriculum responds to current research trends and theories, so it is not uncommon for a class to be offered that addresses a particular area of study or research expertise of a professor who may be visiting the Kellogg School for a year. For instance, three such seminars were offered in political economy, experimental economics, and negotiations.

Below are listed doctoral seminars offered by the Kellogg School of Management for the 2009-2010 academic year. Specific course information is available within Kellogg’s Course Catalog and Schedules.

Please note that this list of courses is subject to change, and any inquiries about these classes should be directed to the department. Interested Northwestern students should register through CAESAR, Northwestern’s online registration system.

Kellogg doctoral students also take classes outside of the Kellogg School in the Departments of Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, and more. Course listings for these subject areas are available through CAESAR.

The course listings below are tentative. Please refer periodically to this page for changes.
